Journey across the spectacular Hai Van Pass, where forested mountains meet the sea. Travel along one of Vietnam’s most scenic coastal roads, with panoramic views, historic landmarks and hidden countryside along the way.

Leave Da Nang or Hoi An behind and follow the dramatic coastline towards the Hai Van Pass. Rising between the mountains and the sea, this historic route offers sweeping views across central Vietnam and a chance to experience the changing landscapes between the coast and the highlands.
Begin with pickup from your hotel in Da Nang or Hoi An and travel in comfort with your private guide and vehicle. Follow the coastline north, passing beaches, fishing communities and the modern cityscape of Da Nang before reaching the foothills of the Hai Van mountain range.
Continue towards the Hai Van Pass, whose winding road climbs through lush forest above the coastline. Stop at scenic viewpoints along the route to take in panoramic views across the South China Sea, Lang Co Bay and the surrounding mountains.
Reach the summit of the pass and explore the historic Hai Van Gate and nearby fortifications. Built during Vietnam’s imperial period, the gateway once marked an important strategic boundary between the regions of Hue and Da Nang.
Continue down the northern side of the pass towards Lang Co Bay. The landscape changes dramatically as steep mountains give way to a long sweep of coastline, turquoise water and fishing villages.
Stop at Lang Co for time to enjoy the scenery and experience the quieter coastal atmosphere. Depending on the season and your interests, continue to a local seafood restaurant or explore the lagoon and surrounding fishing communities.
Continue along the coast before beginning your return journey. Depending on your starting point and preferences, make additional stops at viewpoints, beaches or local villages along the route.
Finish your journey with a scenic drive back to Da Nang or Hoi An, arriving at your hotel after a day exploring one of central Vietnam’s most spectacular landscapes.
