Discover Taipei through its history, culture and modern city life. Explore the National Palace Museum, visit the impressive Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and experience the atmosphere of Longshan Temple before seeing the city’s modern side at Taipei 101. Ride the Maokong Gondola into the surrounding hills, enjoying sweeping views across Taipei and the green mountain landscapes of Maokong.
Explore Taiwan’s spectacular northern coast, beginning at Yehliu Geopark, where wind and waves have shaped the coastline into extraordinary rock formations. Continue into the mountains to Jiufen, wandering its narrow lanes, traditional teahouses and atmospheric old streets. Later, visit Shifen, where the historic railway runs through the heart of the town, before continuing to nearby Shifen Waterfall. Return to Taipei for the evening.
Explore the volcanic landscapes of Yangmingshan National Park, beginning with the open grasslands of Qingtiangang before visiting Xiaoyoukeng, where steaming fumaroles and sulphur vents reveal the geothermal activity beneath the mountains.
Continue to Beitou to see the steaming waters of Thermal Valley and discover the district’s historic hot-spring culture. Visit the Beitou Hot Spring Museum before unwinding with a private hot-spring experience.
Journey south to Lukang, one of Taiwan’s historic towns. Wander through Lukang Old Street, explore its traditional lanes and discover ornate temples and architecture that offer a glimpse into Taiwan’s past.
Continue through the countryside to Sun Moon Lake, surrounded by forested mountains. Check into your lakeside hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Leave Sun Moon Lake early and journey into the mountains to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, renowned for its ancient cypress forests, mist-covered landscapes and peaceful mountain trails. Spend the day exploring the forest, walking beneath towering trees and taking in Alishan’s beautiful mountain scenery before returning to Taipei by private vehicle in the late afternoon, with hotel drop-off in the evening.
