Full day City tour including the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, the Martyrs’ Shrine and Longshan Temple. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure, whether unwinding at your hotel or venturing out to discover Taipei’s lively night markets.

Journey from Taipei into the lush hills of Shifen, where waterfalls, railway tracks and the tradition of sky lanterns bring the old mountain village to life. Follow the coast past the Golden Waterfall and striking Yin Yang Sea before settling into the atmospheric streets of historic Jiufen.

This morning, leave Jiufen by private vehicle and travel along Taiwan’s northern coast to Yehliu Geopark, known for its unusual rock formations shaped by wind and waves, including the famous Queen’s Head. Continue to Yangmingshan National Park, historically known as Datun Mountain and once regarded by the Qing dynasty as one of Taiwan’s eight scenic wonders. Visit Qingtiangang Grassland, once used for cattle grazing, before exploring Xiaoyokeng Geological Site, known for its fumaroles and sulphur deposits. Stop for a traditional Taiwanese lunch in Zhuzihu (at own expense), before continuing to Beitou and checking into your hotel. This afternoon, unwind with a private hot spring experience, enjoying the natural thermal waters for which Beitou is renowned.

This morning, leave Yangmingshan and travel south towards central Taiwan. Stop at historic Shengxing Station, a former railway station on the old mountain railway line, before continuing to the Longteng Bridge for a rail-bike experience through the surrounding countryside. Continue to Lukang, one of Taiwan’s oldest settlements and once a prosperous trading port. Spend the afternoon exploring its historic quarter, where traditional streets, temples and merchant houses reflect its rich heritage. Visit Lukang Old Street and the revered Lukang Mazu Temple, one of Taiwan’s most important centres of Mazu worship. Check into your hotel in the old town and enjoy the evening at leisure, experiencing Lukang’s quieter atmosphere after the day visitors have departed.

This morning, leave Lukang and travel inland towards Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan’s largest lake, surrounded by forested mountains. Visit Wenwu Temple, then take a boat cruise across the lake before continuing to Ci’en Pagoda for panoramic views. Check into your lakeside hotel for a two-night stay and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. The next day, bike around the lake before relaxing at the hotel.

Drive to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, renowned for its ancient cypress and cedar forests, mountain trails and mist-shrouded landscapes. Enjoy an afternoon walking tour through the forest, exploring its peaceful trails and towering trees before checking into your accommodation within the park. Overnight in Alishan.

Rise early for a ride on the Alishan Forest Railway to experience sunrise from the mountains, weather permitting. After breakfast, travel through the Alishan highlands to Fenchihu, a former railway town known for its historic Old Street and traditional railway culture. Continue to Tainan, Taiwan’s historic former capital, visiting Fort Anping and exploring nearby Yanping Street, where old streets and heritage buildings reflect the city’s rich past. Continue south to Fo Guang Shan, Taiwan’s largest Buddhist monastery and an important centre of Buddhist culture, before arriving in Kaohsiung for your overnight stay.

Drive south to Kenting National Park, Taiwan’s southernmost national park, protecting a landscape of coral limestone, forests, caves and tropical coastline. Explore the park on foot, taking in its distinctive coastal scenery and natural formations before continuing north towards Taitung. Arrive at your hotel and settle into a two-night stay, with the remainder of the day at leisure. Relax here for couple of days and enjoy the tranquillity of eastern Taiwan.

Travel north along Taiwan’s Pacific coast, stopping at Xiaoyeliu to explore its unusual sea-eroded rock formations, followed by Sanxiantai, known for its offshore islands and distinctive coastal landscape. Continue through the fishing communities of Donghe and Dulan before reaching Shitiping, where dramatic rock terraces, cliffs and natural tide pools have been shaped by the sea. Continue to Hualien and check into your hotel for 3 Nights.

end the day discovering Hualien and its surroundings. Begin at Qixingtan, a peaceful pebble beach overlooking the Pacific, before exploring Hualien’s local markets and historic streets. Continue with an introduction to the region’s Amis Indigenous culture, learning about traditional customs, food and crafts. Return to Hualien and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, with time to explore the town, sample local specialities or relax at your hotel.

Today, explore Taroko National Park, renowned for its towering marble cliffs, deep river valleys and dramatic mountain scenery. Follow the accessible sections of the gorge, stopping at viewpoints and short walking trails to appreciate the landscape and learn about the area’s geology and Indigenous heritage. Visit the Taroko Visitor Centre before continuing deeper into the park, where conditions permit. Return to Hualien in the afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Leave the East Coast and travel west towards Thousand Island Lake in Shiding, a tranquil landscape of emerald hills, winding waterways and tea plantations. Enjoy a walk through the tea-growing countryside and visit a local tea plantation to learn about Taiwan’s tea culture, with time to sample some of the region’s teas. Continue to Taipei, where your tour ends.
